On Saturday 16th August 2013 in the beautiful Piazza del Campo of Siena will take place the traditional and historical Palio horse race - the Palio of Assunta - which is one of the most famous popular Italian manifestations.

The July edition of the Palio is named Palio of Provenzano - the August race is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and named Palio dell'Assunta.
