From the 10th of January to the 1st of November 2010 in San Giovanni Valdarno - Arezzo - the exhibition of Xmas cribs "Christmas in the World" will take place on Sundays and public holidays.The two creators say about themselves: "We are two 50 years old collectors of Christmas nativities, born in the south of Italy. Before meeting each other, the two of us already had a small collections on their own; from then on together we have dedicated ourselves to this passion. Year after year our collection has been growing in number and worth, including more and more particular and precious pieces. In the beginning, when travelling, we went looking for new nativities on international expositions of arts and crafts, on big and small fairs by ourselves. From then on friends and acquaintances have been enriching our collection with gifts, and now, after 30 years, we can say to own about 1000 nativities, created in various types and models and in most different materials, from modest paper to precious silver.
Classifying, inventorying and arranging the single pieces seems to travel around the globe: these images of popular art – often rooting in very old traditions – show the different way of different peoples to feel the mystery of the Nativity and to interpret the scene of Bethlehem".
