Pappa col pomodoro

Pappa al pomodoro

It is a typical dish of the traditional tuscan cooking. It contains a very few ingredients but it is very tasty: today is considered as a tasty morsel by grown-ups and kids.

Ingredients: tuscan stale bread, very ripe tomatoes, garlic, basil, estra vergin olive oil, salt and pepper

Directions:
Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water for 30 seconds and them pass them under cold water, peel them and chop them taking the seeds away.
Warm the oil in a saucepan and fry the garlic lightly, after having peeled and pressed them hardly.
As the garlic browns add chopped basil and then the tomatoes.
Let it cook for a few minutes and then add the finely sliced bread and mix.
After a few minutes add salt and pepper to taste and 3/4 of a liter of hot water (and a stock cube to taste). Go on with the cooking for 5 or 6 minutes, then take away the pan and let it rest for 20 minutes. Before serving, whisk it in order to mince the bread.
