The building was modified in the 19th century and made up of several buildings.
The tower is very ancient and it is considered to be one of the first towers of the town. It is traditionally known as the Tower of the Little Pig for at the top there is a stone little pig placed on a shelf.
Originally the building was the house of the podestà and the captain of the people.
