The Church was built on Raffaello Maffei request in a special place: the ancient Pope Linus' residence.
On the inside the altar is surmounted by a wood panel of the "Virgin and saints" by Francesco Curradi and the nave displays "The Birth of the Virgin" by Cesare Dandini (first half of the 17th century), "The Visitation of Elizabeth" by Cosimo Daddi.
In the presbitery is still placed the funeral monument of Raffaello Maffei made by Silvio Cosini from Fiesole in 1522.
