Mazzini Square is dedicated to Giuseppe Mazzini, an Italian patriot, philosopher and politician of the 19th Century, who contributed to the birth of the modern Italian State and to the definition of the European movement for popular democracy.
Up to 1872 the square was called Mars Square, as it was the place of many square-bashings. Mazzini's bust monument was created in 1971 by Becchin.
The square is situated very close to the old town center and recently many public works improved its environmental impact by creating public gardens and green areas which make it a peaceful and renowned place.
