Museo di pittura murale is situated on the first floor of the Monastery of S. Domenico and was founded in 1974 to gather several detached frescoes, sinopias and graffiti.
Later on some hangings of the Monastery, church ornaments, votive paintings on wood belonging to different periods and dedicated to the Blessed Benedetto Bacci (whose remains had been moved in S. Domenico church in 1803) have been added to the collection.
You can admire the fresco coming from the Ceppo tabernacle by Niccolo' Gerini and some sinopias from the frescoes of the Cathedral which are attributed to Paolo Uccello. It is worthwhile seeing some graffiti coming from the Palazzo Vai's garden (15th century), which have become rare examples of its style.
In the "Ex-voto" room you can admire the Painting on wood with S. Domenico which is attributed to Taddeo Gaddi.
