The Museum of Natural History, founded in 1981, is housed in the Brunella Fortress of Aulla and is aimed to collect and classify the natural material of Lunigiana for the exhibition and for scientific collections.
The museum structure offers also a scientific lab, equipped with an index file, a library, a photo library and a conference hall. Here it is possible to visit the natural environment of Lunigiana: the mediterranean scruba, the copse, the chestnut wood, fields under crop in valley, hill and mountain, beechwood, mountain grassland and grottos, rural, river and lake landscapes, and the forest features.
The museum offers also a botanical garden.
