The Alessandro Malaspina Centre of Studies was opened in 1987 in Mulazzo in order to remember Alessandro Malaspina (1754-1810), a great navigator who sailed around the world and who made many important scientific discoveries.
The Centre is located in the Malaspina Palace and offers a wide collection of documents about the life of Alessandro Malaspina and his family. In the centre are often organized conferences, workshops, guided tours and meeting. The Centre published catalogues and lists of the documents present in the archive of the Centre.
In the Centre, it is possible to visit the Archive, the Library and the Newspaper and Periodical Library, the auditorium and the exhibition areas dedicated to Alessandro Malaspina and his Family
